In collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, the National Housing.
Development Trust will provide funding to allow homeowners who would not otherwise be able to afford necessary repairs to maintain a dry, healthy, safe and livable environment.
Funding will be provided for specific housing repairs only and will not be provided to support the running operational costs of the home or for cosmetic improvements. Funds will be provided for repairs needed:
- to make the dwelling impermeable to rain and other weather conditions;
- for severe mold remediation;
- for plumbing improvements - to affect running water in the dwelling, whether it is
Toilet operations or sink/bath operations for personal hygiene;
- for electrical safety remediation;
- to repair termite damage; and/or
- for general disability access around/within the dwelling.
Qualifying Criteria:
- Must be Caymanian or Hold Caymanian Status
- Be the owners of the property requiring repairs
- Currently reside at the property requiring repairs
