The National Housing Development Trust is a not-for-profit government company incorporated on 29, September 2003. Our mission is to construct houses in planned communities and facilitate affordable home ownership for the Caymanian people through several financing options. We facilitate home ownership through three main programmes.

The NHDT is to build 21 houses in East End before year-end

Government officials and contractors gather at the site of the National Housing Development Trust’s (NHDT) East End development to mark the start of the housing construction phase of the project.

Under the first phase of the National Housing Development Trust’s (NHDT) Affordable Housing Development Project, 21 houses will be built in East End by year-end.  

The launching ceremony for the project’s construction phase took place on Wednesday, 18 August. Acting Premier the Hon. Juliana O’Connor Connolly, JP reinforced government’s commitment to provide Caymanian residents with affordable housing. “We have great need for such accommodation in our country,” she said. “Government is therefore determined to take the necessary steps to meet as much of this demand as possible. Ordinary citizens need to know that with government’s help, achieving the Caymanian dream remains possible,” the Acting Premier concluded.
